| PORTRAITS | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
The best way to start a portrait is always to include one or more personal sittings for sketches, color studies and photographs. The artist and the client can decide together the type of portrait desired and the particulars of location, dress and whether the portrait will be a formal highly finished piece or a sketch style. All the needs and details of the painting or drawing desired can be defined through discussion of the project beforehand. Most people cannot sit for a portrait for the 10 or more sessions that artists would prefer. The ideal situation is always to have the artist meet the subject and make sketches and studies as well as take photographs, yet the artist can sometimes work solely from photos. In these cases the client can submit photos they feel sure of and the artist can judge whether or not the photos are enough to lead to a good portrait. The
prices below are starting prices and do not include fees for travel and
lodging. A deposit of half the agreed fee is required to start with the
remainder due upon completion, delivery and acceptance by the client.
The artist will travel to the client’s location or clients may choose
to visit Santa Fe and work with the artist in her studio. Sizes likely
will correspond to the image enlargements on the website. Select a favorite
work to begin discussions of what you would be interested in.

| STILL LIFE COMMISSIONS | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
Still Life commissions usually grow out of a need for a painting in a specific room, either in a home or a corporate environment. There may be special size and color requirements that can be easily translated in the artistic process of still life. Many designers have worked with the artist to harmonize a large project with original fine art. Work is created in consultation with the artist and client and often leads to satisfying ideas that both sides are surprised by. Presented below is the presentation drawing for the still life “Captain’s Table”, a commissioned work which included input from the client. All of the objects on the table are a part of the client’s personal collection of nautical antiques. He wanted the collection to be featured promenantly and she wanted a great “hotel bouquet”. Together we agreed on the size needed for their living room and the design was presented as the drawing shown before the painting was begun. Prices for still lifes are variable depending on size and the complication of the subject matter. Payment of 50% is required to start with the remainder due upon completion, delivery and acceptance by the client. Work will not begin on the actual painting until the client has approved the design drawing. Contact the Artist with your requirements and ideas to get estimates on price. |
